Every year since 1994, RCLCO has performed a rigorous search of the high-performing master-planned communities within each state in the nation. On July 6, 2018, they released their mid-year 2018 results, which ranked Viera, Florida, as the 15th Top-Selling Master-Planned Community in the nation and 5th in the state of Florida.
“Through deliberate long-term planning, The Viera Company continues to invest in the underlying infrastructure to support the community’s development as a vibrant residential and employment destination on Florida’s Space Coast,” remarked Todd J. Pokrywa, Senior Vice President of Land Use Planning and Development for The Viera Company.
In January 2018, Viera was ranked number 25 of 50 in the nation for top selling master-planned communities. A 40% increase in sales over a 6-month period helped the community climb 10 spots from this ranking.
“Viera is the premier master-planned community in East Central Florida and has proven to be a highly desirable location for the more than 23,000 residents and over 350 employers who currently call Viera home,” stated Pokrywa. “Viera continues to be a highly sought after community in which to live, given its A-rated schools, high quality health care services, and recreational amenities such as the Brevard Zoo, Duran Golf Club, The Avenue Viera, and the USSSA Space Coast Stadium. Since January 2018, Viera has witnessed the progression of many new neighborhoods and the complete sell-out of others.
“Viera has jumped from the 25th spot in the Year-End 2017 report to number 15, significantly outpacing sales from the previous year,” RCLCO notes in their 2018 mid-year rankings report. “Florida continues to be a top retirement destination for baby boomers, and the increase in the 55 and up demographic has influenced sales at Florida communities, such as…Viera, which feature active adult communities within their master plans.”
Gregg Logan, Managing Director for RCLCO spoke to Viera’s success in the current housing market, stating, “Viera ranks 15th on RCLCO’s 2018 Mid-Year Top-Selling Master-Planned Community Update, moving up from 25th at the end of 2017, reflecting its 54% increase in sales over the same time period last year. The 292 homes sold by Viera in the first half of 2018 represent 65% of the sales pace set for the entirety of 2017, indicating that an impressive year-end finish may be in store for the community which currently ranks high among the Top-20 fastest selling communities in the U.S.”
Currently, there are almost a dozen single-family home neighborhoods under construction in Viera, as well as two new multi-family living complexes and an innovative 55 and better community. With at least three additional neighborhoods (Sendero Cove, Sierra Cove, and Stonecrest) slated to begin construction in 2019, Viera is looking to remain on a steady track of growth and expansion in Brevard County.
