In 2002, my wife and I returned to Florida, my adopted home (and her native home), for my final assignment coordinating development of the study plan for the Everglades Restoration Project.
In 2003 I changed careers, partnering with my wife who was very active in real estate. But moving was still in our DNA. In 2004, we left Satellite Beach continuing our careers in real estate while fulfilling another dream, to live in the Lower Florida Keys. We moved to Little Torch Key, slipped our sailboat at Marathon and added a powerboat to the canal behind our house. In 2007 we returned to Melbourne, and I switched hobbies from boats to a motor home, and a well-equipped garage to work on my collection of German and Italian vintage cars.
In 2009, we switched gears again, this time back to southern Nevada, where our home became our jumping-off point for “motor homing” around the West. After two years, we couldn’t resist the urge to return to Melbourne, our friends, and the beautiful (and less dry) weather. What’s the saying? Third time’s a charm. Without question, we love this area of Florida.
