Tony Buono, REALTOR®
I’ve been working with buyers and sellers of residential real estate in the Melbourne area, the Middle and Lower Florida Keys, and the Fort Myers area since 2003. Due to my boating experience in these areas, I have not only helped buyers and sellers understand the value of their properties, but I’ve helped buyers with boat-accessibility questions in rivers, canals, inlets, and offshore.
I was born and raised in Manhattan, served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in Vietnam, and graduated from Brooklyn College in 1973. After graduating, I moved to Tampa, Florida as graduate student in the geology department at the University of South Florida. While at USF, I began my career as a hydrologic technician, then groundwater hydrologeologist with the U.S.
In 2002, my wife and I returned to Florida, my adopted home (and her native home), for my final assignment coordinating development of the study plan for the Everglades Restoration Project.
In 2003 I changed careers, partnering with my wife who was very active in real estate. But moving was still in our DNA. In 2004, we left Satellite Beach continuing our careers in real estate while fulfilling another dream, to live in the Lower Florida Keys. We moved to Little Torch Key, slipped our sailboat at Marathon and added a powerboat to the canal behind our house. In 2007 we returned to Melbourne, and I switched hobbies from boats to a motor home, and a well-equipped garage to work on my collection of German and Italian vintage cars.
In 2009, we switched gears again, this time back to southern Nevada, where our home became our jumping-off point for “motor homing” around the West. After two years, we couldn’t resist the urge to return to Melbourne, our friends, and the beautiful (and less dry) weather. What’s the saying? Third time’s a charm. Without question, we love this area of Florida.
